The production process of an aluminum clad window or patio door brings together the finest quality wood from Woodgrain Millwork and powder coat painted aluminum from our West Des Moines facility. We recently created a focused initiative in our Monroe, North Carolina facility to reduce waste. Windsor Windows & Doors has always been an active recycler of aluminum and we have invested into optimization software and hardware to reduce the amount of materials we need to recycle… because not generating waste is even better than recycling waste. Our Monroe facility has recently implemented a pilot program with the casement frame profile. This machinery and software has allowed Monroe to reduce the amount of aluminum we use by 14% on this particular profile. This equates to a savings of $312 per day in materials. The project has shown significant success and we will soon expand this process to include other profiles.
