Windsor is pressing forward with production and expansion of our facilities despite the COVID-19 situation. We have adapted our facilities to be safe for our plant employees by creating the designated distance between employees, requiring face masks or face shields while at work, dispensing hand sanitizer to all employees and by disinfecting our plants multiple times each day. We are fortunate to be deemed an essential business and to be able to continue production and keep our team members employed.
Long before the pandemic hit, we were installing equipment to pre-finished painted windows and doors at the West Des Moines, IA facility. For the past few years, Windsor’s PFI (Pre-finished Interior) product has been painted and assembled in the Monroe plant. We are excited to announce that since February of this year, Windsor has begun producing PFI painted products in our Iowa plant, as well.
With this investment in state-of-the-art equipment manufactured by Cefla, the West Des Moines facility has expanded Windsor’s capacity and our commitment to our customers has never been stronger. Over the next several months the full offering of PFI products will be painted and manufactured at both Windsor facilities. The future of the window and door industry will place a major emphasis on pre-painted and pre-stain products that are finished before installation. Adding value to our product is more important now than ever before.
