Mark Rieser, president of Woodgrain Millwork’s window division and Windsor Windows & Doors, recently joined the board of the Window & Door Manufacturers Association, our industry’s leading trade association. WDMA members are interested in furthering the interests of the industry, including safety, energy conservation, housing issues, economic and tax policies, as well as environmental stewardship.
WDMA has demonstrated its effectiveness in representing window and door manufacturers, while facilitating collaboration with various regulators and policy makers in Washington, D.C. WDMA will advocate for an approach that provides a practical balance on relevant issues, serving both the members as well as our consumers.
Mark Rieser and Bill Tindell, Windsor’s director of product development, represented Windsor at the annual WDMA Legislative meeting last March. During that meeting, they met with Iowa Senator Joni Ernst and Iowa Congressman David Young to discuss various industry topics and to advance several topics affecting our industry.
There are 3 WDMA conferences during the year. Mark will be attending the next WDMA Executive Management Conference on September 27-28 in Boston, Massachusetts. There are 18 members of the board and the appointment is a 3-year commitment. Mark will serve in this role though 2020.
When asked about his new position in the organization, Rieser stated, “I’ve spent my entire career in the window and door business. I felt this was a good time to serve as an advocate for our industry.”
