In the June issue of Windsor World, we talked about Windsor’s product development focus for 2016: products and options geared toward the increasing popularity in contemporary architecture. We introduced the new contemporary stop option for casement, casement picture, awning, direct set and radius products. Also mentioned was the earlier addition of alder and fir wood species to Pinnacle clad narrow sliding patio doors. The article concluded with a hint of more exciting products to address contemporary architecture in the coming months. Below is a sneak peek of a couple of those projects.
Windsor is putting the finishing touches on a clad low-profile frame design that will allow for the production of direct glazed rectangles, geometric shapes, radius shapes and corner windows all from the same frame profile. This new frame profile will be similar in shape to our current radius and low-profile direct set frame with additional features to allow for the application of tall exterior putty WDL bars and well as the aforementioned corner windows.
The trend for contemporary architecture has not gone without notice on patio doors. The addition of a narrow stile swinging patio door panel option for Pinnacle clad in-swing, outswing and bi-fold doors is right around the corner. As with French and narrow sliding patio doors, this new narrow stile panel option will complement the current wider stile panels on Pinnacle clad swinging patio doors.
Stay tuned for further updates and plans for launching these exciting projects later this fall.
